Calling all superheroes! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Get ready to unleash your inner hero at the most epic event of the year - the 2024 Superhero 5K & Fun Run, supporting East Texas CASA and the advocacy for children in the Foster Care System of Gregg, Upshur, and Rusk counties! 🌟

On August 17, the excitement begins at 7:00 am in the parking lot of Mr. Cooper and Planet Fitness in Longview, TX. As the sun rises, get ready to put your superpowers to the test as the race kicks off at 7:30 am sharp! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

But this isn't just any ordinary race - it's a superhero extravaganza! Each runner will receive a race shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a swag bag filled to the brim with tons of awesome goodies. 🎽🏅🛍️

And the fun doesn't stop there! We have some incredible prizes up for grabs. The top three overall finishers will be rewarded with some SUPER prizes 🏆🥇🥈🥉 in addition too our age bracket prizes... Plus, we can't forget about Superhero custom costume contest! Dress up yourself, kids and even your pup in their best superhero costume for a chance to win more prizes. 🦸‍♂️

But the real power of this event lies in the impact it will have on the lives of children in need. It’s a day to rally around the childhood cancer community: to celebrate the survivors, encourage those still in the fight, and to honor the memory of friends we’ve lost. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and the ribbon color is GOLD. Gold Network of East TX is a registered 501c3 nonprofit that serves local pediatric cancer families. Paint Palestine Pink was founded in August 2010 as a non-profit organization that was initially dedicated to providing diagnostics to help in the fight against breast cancer. We have since been able to expand our services to provide grants for diagnostics and treatment in the fight against ALL cancers.

Our foundation has been providing funding for diagnostic tests since 2010. All funds stay local and we provide services to the men and women of Anderson and surrounding counties. We contract with local facilities and physicians as much as possible but will look outside of the county to help our residents. We have no CEO's or executives drawing salaries. This organization is completely funded by donations and run by a board of directors and community volunteers.

The Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA) is excited to announce the 2024 Greater North Texas Team Hope 5K to be held on November 9th at Rose Rudman Park. Team Hope events represent the largest local opportunity for members of the HD community to come together with friends, family members, neighbors and the community at large to raise necessary awareness and funds to support HDSA. Huntington’s disease (HD) is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities during their prime working years and has no cure. Since their inception, Team Hope Walks have raised more than $14 million and involved tens of thousands of participants from local communities across America. Proceeds from Team Hope support the mission and programs of HDSA, the premier nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by Huntington’s disease. From community services and education to advocacy and research, HDSA is the world’s leader in providing help for today and hope for tomorrow for people with Huntington’s disease and their families. 22nd Annual Tyler Turkey Trot 5K & Fun Run

The 22nd Annual Tyler Turkey Trot 5K and Fun Run will be held on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at Racquet and Jog in Tyler, Texas.

Join us for a festive run, jog or walk. This is a perfect way to celebrate a family-friendly Thanksgiving Day 5k!

The Kids' Race kicks off at 8:30AM and the 5K kicks off at 9:00AM.

Your 5K registration includes a long sleeve t-shirt, medal and chip-timed race. Kids' Dash registrants receive a kids t-shirt and a medal. Participants of the Kids' Dash may participate in the 5K for free, however, to be chip-timed, a 5K registration will be required.

Age categories for the 5K are: > 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 and 75 and above.

Race Day Registration: You must register online. We will not have paper registrations available. You will be able to register online until 7:30AM on race day. No further entries will be allowed after 7:30AM. We highly recommend that you register prior to race day.

Lindale Turkey Trot 2024

The 5th annual Lindale Turkey Trot is a 5K and Kids Race that is held at EJ Moss Intermediate School in Lindale, Texas on Thanksgiving morning.

The Kids Race starts at 8:30AM and is followed by the 5K at 8:45AM.

Our course start/finish line is on Eagle Spirit Drive where we have plenty of room for family and friends to cheer each other on and start their Thanksgiving holiday out with a bang! We welcome strollers, wagons, and pets on our 5K course (no aggressive breeds and pets must remain on a leash the entire time).

Your 5K registration includes a Lindale Turkey Trot soft blend t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a chip-timed race. Top three of each age division will also receive a gold, silver, or bronze medal. Kids Race registrants will receive a kids t-shirt and a finisher medal. All Kids Race registrants are allowed to participate in the 5k for free, but in order to have a chip-timer, they must register and pay for the 5K. They will only receive one medal.

The Kids Race is for 10 and under only.

Proceeds from the race will be invested back into our community by going to the Lindale ISD Education Foundation. (The race is not an Education Foundation event and is not hosted by the Education Foundation.)

Race Day Registration: All registration must be completed online. You may register for the race on Thanksgiving morning (if we don't sell out), but you must have it completed before 7:45 AM. T-shirt sizes will not be guaranteed if you register after November 4th.

After the 5K, enjoy our exciting after-run concert and speaker sessions. This concert is free and open to everyone, whether you participated in the race or not. Since 2010, Hope Springs Water has provided hope to the developing world through clean water, improved sanitation, and public health and hygiene education. Hope Springs Water sees every one of the 844 million people who lack basic drinking water access and the 2.3 billion without proper sanitation as individuals deserving of a life lived in health and dignity. The profits from this year's race will be used to drill wells in Africa and Central America.
