This event includes a Texas Sized Sprint and Olympic distance race course, Team Category, and seriously Cool Finisher Medal. It's a fun and challenging race that takes place at Lake Tawakoni State Park just 50 miles east of Dallas. For those outdoor enthusiasts, race site camping is available Friday (5/5) and Saturday (5/6).
TEXAS SIZED SPRINT
800 meter Swim, 24.8 mile Bike, 3.1 mile Run
OLYMPIC DISTANCE
1500 meter Swim, 24.8 mile Bike, 6.2 mile Run
The open water swim courses (no loops) have a beach entrance and take place in beautiful Lake Tawakoni. The scenic 24.8 mile bike for both distances is an out and back course which is mostly flat with only two turns. The Sprint run course is an out and back with a couple of small rolling hills, and a fun 1/4 mile trail run to kick it off. The Olympic run course uses the same route and includes a partial loop.
Where is Lake Tawakoni? Surprisingly, it's the same distance from Dallas as Lake Ray Roberts, however if you live south of 635 it is closer. Head east out of town towards Terrell to find Lake Tawakoni State Park. The lake is 35 minutes east of Rockwall, 50 miles from Dallas, and a straight shoot out on 80 to Wills Point. About 9 miles north of Wills Point on Lake Drive / FM 47 you'll find the State Park. There will be Lake Tawakoni signs, as well as RACE signs to show you the way. ADDRESS: 10822 FM 2475 Wills Point, TX 75169
